Music in background like Champion by Carman | NAR: "Moreover, brethren, I declare
unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received,
and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory
what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered
unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died
for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that
he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that
he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was
seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain
unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen
of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of
me also, as of one born out of due time" (I Corinthians 15:1-8).
NAR: Before the foundations of the world were formed and long before the first man, And and his wife, Eve were created, God the Creator of the universe, had in his mind a plan. Long before man ever thought of disobeying his Maker, the plan was completed. NAR: God devised a plan to redeem, that is to restore, sinful man unto himself. NAR: After that Adam and Eve had sinned and separated themselves of our loving God, God first began to reveal this plan unto man. NAR: "And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel" (Genesis 3:14-15). |
Soft background music played as parts are acted
out: Here Comes Jesus
|
Matthew 16:13-26, John 12:23-25)
NAR: When Jesus came into the coast of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples ..... JESUS: Whom do men say that I am? Disc 1: Some say that you are John the Baptist. Disc 2: Some say, Elijah. Disc 3: Others say, Jeremiah. Disc 4: Or one of the prophets. JESUS: But, who do you say that I am? PETER: You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. JESUS: You are blessed, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood had not revealed this unto you, but my Father which is in heaven. JESUS: "And I say also unto you, that your are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church: and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (pause) |
CONGREATION. Sing: There is Joy, Joy, Joy in the Presence of
the Lord.
Softly play
Bind us Together Softly play Oh, the Blood of Jesus
Behold the Lamb |
JESUS: Men, you are to tell no
one that I am the Christ.
NAR: From that time forth began Jesus to show unto his disciple, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many thing of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raise again the third day. JESUS: "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" NAR: Would his disciples also have to die? Who would be able to follow Jesus? NAR: As time drew near this great even in history, Jesus pressed the point of his death with his disciples. JESUS: "The hour is come, that the Son of Man should be glorified. Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateh his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal." NAR: How that Jesus could be glorified in his own death was still a mystery to his disciples. They did not see that he would be planted like a seed in the earth, then sprout forth from the earth, and then produce fruit. |
SCENE II - DEATH
Isaiah 53:1-7, Matthew 27:33-51, Luke 23:44-46
NAR: "Who hath believed our report?
and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For he shall grow up
before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath
no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that
we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a
man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces
from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath
borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken,
smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon
him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep
have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD
hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he
was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to
the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth
not his mouth" (Isaiah 53:1-7).
NAR: "And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull, They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink. And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots" (Matthew 27:33-35). |

MOCKER I: (wagging their
heads) You that will destroy the temple, and rebuild it in three
days, save yourself!.
MOCKER II: If you be the Son of God, come down from the cross. MOCKER III: He saved others; himself he cannot save. MOCKER V: If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. MOCKER V: He trusted in God, let Him deliver him now, if He will have him: for he said, "I am the Son of God." NAR: "And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst" (Luke 23:44-45). JESUS: My God, my God why has thou forsaken me? |
Noise like vibrating tin, wind blowing |
|
softly play: That I May Know Him | NAR: Jesus had told the Pharisees who were looking for
a sign, "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly;
so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of
the earth." (Matthew 12:40)
NAR: And Paul wrote in Ephesians 4:9-10, " (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)" NAR: David had also prophesied in Psalm 16:10, "For thou
wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One
to see corruption."
|
SCENE III - THE RESURRECTION
(Matthew 27:57- 28:8, Mark 16:1-8)
Softly play
Behold the Lamb |
NAR: "When the even was come, there
came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus'
disciple: He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate
commanded the body to be delivered. And when Joseph had taken
the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, And laid it in his
own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great
stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed" (Matthew 27:57-60).
NAR: "Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first. Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can. So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch" (Matthew 27:62-66). |
Continue song and begin a drum roll and cymbals at "earthquake"
Softly play:
|
NAR: "In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week ... And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men" (Matthew 28:1-4). NAR: And very early in the morning the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Jams, and Salome came to the sepulchure at the rising of the sun to anoint the body of Jesus with spices. |
|
|
Mary I: I don't know why we have come here. There
is a large stone over the grave.
Mary II: We will have to get someone to roll back the stone for us. SALOME: Yes, but who can we find at this time of the day? ANGEL: Fear not, ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not hear: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead. |
SPECIAL MUSIC: Was it a Morning Like This?
Softly play: For this Purpose was the Son of God Manifest | NAR: What did this resurrection
mean?
NAR: It meant that Jesus was truly the Son of God and that he had victory over all the powers of the enemy, Satan. Paul wrote, "And ahaving spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it." (Colossians 2:15). NAR: Jesus himself proclaimed, "I am he that liveth, and wa dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the key of hell and of death." (Revelation 1:18). NAR: But what did it mean to the disciples? |
CONGREATION Sings: For This Purpose
SCENE IV - His Appearing
(John 20:19-22)
Softly play: All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name | NAR: " Then the same day at evening,
being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples
were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst,
and saith unto them, Peace be unto you."
JESUS: Peace be unto you. (Response of gladness JESUS: Peace be unto you: as my Father has sent me, even so, send I you. (Breathing on them) NAR: This simply meant that Jesus had offered himself as a peace offering unto the Father and that he could now off all those that would receive him, his spirit - eternal life - a new birth. NAR: "But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive" (I Corinthians 15:20-22). NAR: "And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living
soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. ... The first man
is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven" (I Corinthians
15:45, 47).
|
SCENE V - The Great Commission
(Mark 16:14-20)
NAR: "Afterward he appeared unto the
eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and
hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after
he was risen" (Mark 16:14).
JESUS: "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. " NAR: "So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received
up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth,
and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the
word with signs following. Amen. And they went forth, and preached
every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs
following. Amen" (Mark 16:19-20).
